Sonata-Sonatina Festival takes place at Music Institute of Chicago in Winnetka.

Participants will perform one movement of Sonata or two movements of Sonatina from memory and receive written evaluation on their performance. They also receive a blue ribbon for participation, and those who score 90-100 receive medals: gold, silver, and bronze. Gold medalists may play in the Gold Medal Recitals a week after the Festival.

Every student will receive an individual time slot for performance and should  arrive 15 min. before their assigned time. Participants must bring their music with measures numbered and all markings erased. Judges will not except photocopies.
